With the "Presenta i tuoi amici 2026" (Refer Your Friends 2026) initiative, running from June 18, 2026, to September 30, 2026, the bank rewards both new and existing account holders with €50 Amazon.it Gift Cards.The account is free for the first 12 months and for those under 30.
Existing customers can invite up to a maximum of 4 friends, accumulating a total reward of up to €200 in Amazon Gift Cards. Each referred friend who completes the account opening and performs a qualifying action will also receive a €50 gift card.
Requirements and eligibility conditions
To properly participate in the promotion and claim the bonus, specific criteria must be met, avoiding the exclusion cases outlined in the terms:
  • Referrer Requirements (Presentatore): To generate referral links and receive rewards, the referrer must have been a Widiba account holder for at least 4 months as of June 18, 2026, with active online remote services. Employees, financial advisors of the Montepaschi Group, and their immediate family members or relatives are excluded.
  • Referred Customer Requirements (Amico Presentato): The referred person must be an adult residing in Italy. They must not be a current or former customer of Banca Widiba, nor hold accounts or active relationships with other Montepaschi Group banks (or have closed one in the preceding 6 months). Employees and financial advisors of the group, along with their family members, are likewise excluded.
  • Qualifying Actions to Complete: After the account is officially opened, the referred customer has 60 days (and no later than November 30, 2026) to complete at least one of the following actions:
    • Direct deposit of salary or pension using dedicated ABI transaction codes.
    • Account transfer from another bank via the free online service Widiexpress, requesting the simultaneous closure of the old account and transfer of the balance.
  • Reward Delivery: The Amazon.it Gift Cards will be delivered via email and made available in the account's private area within an average of 90 days from the completion of the qualifying action. The codes are valid for purchases on Amazon.it until December 31, 2027.
Step-by-step guide to claiming the bonus
  1. Sign Up via Link: The referred friend must start and complete the Widiba Account application online by September 30, 2026, using exclusively the unique referral link provided by the referrer.
  2. Complete Onboarding: Follow the guided registration process by entering personal details, signing the contract, and completing identity verification by uploading the required ID documents.
  3. Account Opening: Await the confirmation email from the bank confirming the official opening of the checking account.
  4. Execute the Qualifying Action: Within 60 days of the opening confirmation date, set up the salary/pension direct deposit or request the closure of the old bank account via the Widiexpress feature within online banking.
